Upon arriving at Wonderland, we were immediately greeted and swiftly seated. The waiter promptly explained the process, which was particularly helpful as we were first-time visitors. The dark, magical atmosphere, with its whimsical decorations referencing Alice in Wonderland, immediately set the tone for our dining experience.
Our waiter was accommodating and kind, offering friendly service and leaving us with a wonderful experience. I liked how everything was extravagant, including the plates the food was on and the way you had to paint the menu.
Firstly, we were presented with drinks to order. There were four options, so we ordered a different drink each to experience them all. If you are a cocktail drinker, this is the perfect place for you as the cocktails were unlike anything I have had before.
They take a regular drink at Wonderland and transform it into something unique.
The entire experience at Wonderland is a spectacle; for instance, one of the drinks was brought out under a glass dome filled with smoke, creating a dramatic and intriguing presentation. Plus, it smelt like a bonfire!
Wonderland is different from any restaurant I have been to before. One reason is that the waiter brings out multiple starters from the menu, giving us a bite-size portion. I like this because it allows you to try numerous starters without getting too full. It also means you can try foods you have never tried and test what you like and dislike.
Another unique feature of Wonderland is that the food they create looks different. For example, what looked like a tomato was made of something else, creating an optical allusion.
My favourite starters were 'Reconstructed Caprese' and 'The Birds Nest'. The 'nest' was surprisingly tasty, although I'm still unsure what it was.
Whether you have been there or not, the waiters explain everything on the menu and guide you to the best choice. This is appreciated because everything on the menu has fun and imaginative names, making it hard to know what you're ordering.
Once again, we ordered different things off the menu to try everything.
My main course was fantastic, cooked to perfection, and the chicken was incredible. Wonderland takes something simple and creates something unique and fascinating.
Everyone else's meals were equally incredible and tasty! My top recommendations would be 'The Chicken and the Egg', 'Snap, Crackle and Pork', and 'The Rib "I" Luscious Short Rib.'
The desserts were my favourite and were the most imaginative and fascinating.
The dessert I ordered was one of the best I have ever had. It was called 'The World'. It consisted of ice cream and brownies covered by a chocolate dome that melted once hot caramel sauce was poured over it.
There were also desserts called 'The Mystical Mushroom Garden' and 'The Forbidden Apple', which were dessert foods put together to appear like a mystical mushroom garden or a forbidden apple.
Wonderland is for adventurous eaters who aren't afraid to try new foods and experiment.
If you want to pay for the experience and the food, then Wonderland is for you.
The dessert I had, 'The World,' was incredible! I highly recommend it! The service was also super friendly and helpful. I also loved how you had to use the paintbrush on the menu to see what was on it; this added to the experience.
My experience at Wonderland did not disappoint, and I definitely didn't leave hungry. A tip would be to make sure you have a reservation beforehand as the dining space on Anthem of the Seas is smaller, so it would fill up quickly.
