Turkish Delights: Megan’s Turkey Travel Diary

On day one, we travelled from Manchester Terminal 1. We flew into Dalman airport, where we greeted our assigned driver for our trip. We had a 30-minute drive to the 5* Hilton Dalman and were welcomed with drinks in the reception upon arrival.

Then we checked into the hotel and were taken to our lake house rooms. The room had a lounge area, bedroom, and bathroom with a bath and rain shower. I also had a balcony, which overlooked one of the pool areas, which we had access to via the steps at the side of our rooms.

We had a couple of hours of free time, which allowed us to use the hotel's facilities, including pool areas and bars before we all met up later in the evening. It was a Turkish night, which allowed us to try different foods. The staff was so helpful and friendly.

On day two, we visited the Hilton Dalman, where we toured the hotel's different room types and facilities, including an adult-only zone, a Kids' club, and a splash park with water slides.

We then travelled to Marmaris, visited the Julian Club Hotel, and had lunch. After this, we visited Green Nature Beach and Resort and Green Nature Diamond Hotel.

We checked in at our next hotel, Prime Beach, and had free time to relax around the pool. Later in the evening, we met for a three-course meal and a few drinks to catch up about our day and plans for the following days. The restaurant overlooked the beach, which was lovely, and I would recommend it. We then had free time to explore the shops Marmaris had to offer.

On day 3, we visited Prime Beach to see the different amenities. Prime Beach had one main pool and one children's area; multiple restaurants were onsite, giving customers plenty of meal options. We also saw the different room options, which were as beautiful as the last.

Later in the day, we visited Mirage World for a site visit. Mirage World had a wide range of pools, including four kids' pools and an aqua park at the back of the hotel.

We then went to the Alvaro Apartments, which were spacious basic apartments in an ideal location with a pool with a slide for kids. We also visited the Orka Lotus Hotel, which was absolutely beautiful. The hotel has five outdoor pools, four restaurants, and a private beach. The Orka Lotus is also home to seven bars for drinks and lighter bites. One of the pools also has slides for the little ones.

We then travelled to Fethiye, where we checked into the Hillside Fethiye.

We visited the beautiful Hillside Beach resort with a beachfront location, a Freshwater outdoor pool, three outdoor pools, six bars, and a private beach. The rooms are lovely and spacious, with their own balconies.

We then went to Club Tuana Fethiye, a family-favourite hotel with a huge pool, a beachfront location, and many bars and restaurants. There are seven bars and four restaurants, all with different food options.

We then went to Jiva Beach Resort for lunch. They have 24-hour all-inclusive swim-up rooms available with direct access to the beach. The resort also has six bars, four restaurants, five outdoor pools, a swimming lane, and a whirlpool. We had lunch in their stunning main buffet restaurant.

Later on, we checked in at the Liberty Fabay. The hotel is a 5-star in Dalaman, boasting nine outdoor pools, an onsite aqua park, an indoor pool, and pool facilities, including a disabled hoist. The hotel also has a standard all-inclusive plus board basis, which can be used at all 10 restaurants and the further 10 bars. We all got ready for our orange night and had food in the main restaurant. We spent the rest of the evening visiting shops in the area and enjoying the hotel's evening facilities, which included entertainment.

WHO WOULD THIS TYPE OF TRIP BE SUITED TO?

This trip is suitable for most people and is very family-friendly. Each hotel had a wide variety of pools (including freshwater pools), and many of them had slides and aqua parks.

FAVOURITE HOTEL VISITED?

My favourite hotel was the Liberty Fabay. It was beautiful; the restaurant served a wide array of food, and the rooms were pristine.

BEST EXPERIENCE FROM THE TRIP?

My favourite experience was going to Marmaris, shopping, and seeing the sights. I would love to go back and spend more time there.

Favourite Restaurant Visited:

The Liberty Fabay main buffet restaurant was my favourite restaurant we visited. They had a wide variety of food, and I really enjoyed the chicken and Turkish kebab we tried.

General Comments and Tips:

Adrian and Paula (the reps) were lovely and worked hard to ensure we had the best trip. I would love to return to some of these hotels and spend more time in Turkey to enjoy it for all it offers.
