DAY ONE

EMBARKING THE SHIP

Embarkation was quick and seamless, giving us plenty of time to head straight for the buffet - packed with choice and delicious pizza! We followed it up with afternoon tea at the Observatory; the cookies and scones are a must.

We spent the afternoon exploring the ship, and the interiors are stunning - modern, luxurious, and clearly brand new. We checked out several complimentary and speciality restaurants, and they all looked top-tier. The Hudson, one of the complimentary spots, is a perfect example of how beautiful included dining can be.

Outside, the deck felt so spacious after removing the running track - now filled with large day beds and relaxing features. My family balcony room was ready quickly, spacious, and smartly designed. There's even storage under the bed and a luxe shower with four settings.

That evening, I dined at Cagney's, the ship's Steakhouse. The French onion soup was full of flavour, and the filet mignon with truffle fries did not disappoint.

We wrapped up the night at Syd Norman's bar, enjoying live music, and had a peek at the Aqua Theatre, which transforms into a nightclub after hours.

DAY TWO

EXPLORING THE SHIP

We started the day with a quick breakfast at Indulge. Classic options like scrambled eggs and sausages were ideal before a busy morning.

Next, we had an inspiring session about the ship at the Aqua Theatre, followed by a delicious lunch at the Hudson. We then toured The Haven, a serene, exclusive retreat with its own pool, sun deck, and restaurant.

The ship had tons to explore: waterslides, mini golf, dodgems, and even a glass walkway – fun for all ages.

The spa stood out, with steam rooms, saunas, salt and clay therapy, and luxe relaxation areas – easily the best at sea. The gym was just as impressive, with top equipment and a spin studio.

We also viewed the solo traveller cabins – compact but smartly designed, with access to a private lounge.

Dinner at the Commodore was a highlight of the day: butternut squash soup, risotto, and a heavenly chocolate cake. The evening ended with an incredible Fleetwood Mac' Rumours' tribute show – the perfect finale to a brilliant day.

DAY THREE

BRUGGE EXCURSION

Breakfast at the Hudson started strong with Eggs Benedict - my favourite breakfast of the trip and the perfect fuel for a packed day ahead!

Today's highlight was a Bruges excursion. We booked the 'Bruges at Your Own Pace' option through the NCL app, which includes direct city transfers and the freedom to explore independently.

We wandered through Bruges' famous chocolate shops - everything looked amazing, so of course, I had to pick up a few treats to bring home. A stop at The Old Chocolate House was a must. Known for its incredible hot chocolate, I chose salted caramel and loved every sip! It was rich, indulgent, and served in giant mugs!

The perfect weather made it a joy to stroll through the beautiful, clean streets with charming buildings. Amanda grabbed some Belgian frites while a few of us went to Otto Waffle Ateliere - and wow, those waffles were next level! Even plain, they'd be incredible.

After a scenic walk back, we returned to the ship to unwind in the sunshine before getting ready for our final evening.

Dinner was at Sukhothai, my favourite speciality restaurant onboard. I had spring rolls to start and Thai green curry for the main course, which was delicious and the perfect way to end the trip.

WHO WOULD THIS TYPE OF TRIP BE SUITED TO?

NCL Aqua would suit everyone. There is so much to do on the ship for kids, as well as adults. You could genuinely customise the experience to what you enjoy and prefer! The food options are endless, and so is the entertainment! Brugge would be suited to anyone who likes to wander, explore, and for chocolate/waffle lovers!

BEST EXPERIENCE FROM THE TRIP?

My best experience was the day excursion to Brugge and the Fleetwood Mac tribute show - it gave me goosebumps and was so good!

FAVOURITE RESTAURANT VISITED?

My favourite restaurant was the Sukothai speciality restaurant. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was unique. I also want to highlight the chocolate cake I got for dessert at the Commodore restaurant; I can't stop thinking about it!

General Comments and Tips:

The spa was the best I have ever seen! It had so many amenities, such as steam rooms, clay rooms, saunas, and ice rooms. Access to the spa is £99pp; however, treatments are an extra cost. If you have a day at sea, I recommend spending the day there!
